    2. Mr Mags - I hope you remembered to wipe your feet before entering my pristine abode??
Yes, I have been tinkering under the bonnet - I will probably have to take a new picture for the header.

  2. Is this like a "Where's Wally" puzzle? I can't see Sid in any photo so far... Jx

    1. I saw him in a header image earlier. I thought the images were on a rotating schedule before MsScarlet now set for "Devon Mist" ...

    2. Apologies, Jon, I have been faffing about with the header and getting my bearings!
I have the s1600 resolution code for this picture - your method of uploading works a treat! My first efforts don't have that code - I think the only way to have perfect pictures on Blogger is by following your instructions - so a big thank you for your help!

    1. I have spent all day polishing this new blog…. And now Jon’s photo trick won’t work for me. So grrrrr!! I don’t understand why it won’t work with this theme.
In the end I linked to my WordPress photo library, et voila, a very sharp photo - but how bonkers is that?!

    2. Yeah, it's shiny !
Oh, sorry, regarding graphics formats & resolutions, there are so many possibilities for things to go wrong. If it worked before to your contentment, it may simply be the theme - because that is what you changed. Maybe blogger has some themes specially for photographs / graphics ? But again, I am not familiar with these things.
But I think I recognise this theme, you may have used it before.

    3. Yes, I have used this theme before!!
Jon is using this theme, and his photos look wonderful. I suppose the WordPress method will work for calligraphy posts, for the time being.

  4. I had to look up what my theme actually was - "Simple", apparently, but heavily customised (colour, background wallpaper and so on). I doubt that would be the reason for a difference in photo upload quality. Your pictures look hi-res to me, Ms Scarlet! Jx

    1. Good evening, Jon! This image is here courtesy of my WordPress library, hence it is high resolution - I suppose it’s okay to do that if it works! Just seems a bit potty.
Tomorrow I’ll upload the same picture straight to Blogger and all the code that goes with it! I’ve been trying to resize the code in HTML and the original photo stays huge. It’s driven me potty today. It’s a shame that I couldn’t live with the other theme, but it felt too minimalist. Ack.

  5. the HTML appears something like this (without the square brackets around the "<" and ">"):

    [<]div class="separator" style="clear: both;"[>][<]a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheHn_IJjlOgAw-zrCmsIx-EeuGMOBuv3950wk_rREpBoG7Ih2o8WHwBdvxOGvkaE6f5D05HiyoIU2OMp6KZr8DT7OxOnTr_Nz6Y4jzwYOjI6QuovdskhLSEJND07YkWklhUC1lBuV4yq5KhA69JYZr8jQi5KKf8jjmIqJfRRPGqRbLWdahqzIt1nwPs0SO/s1600/Casual%20Friday.jpg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "[>][<]img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="810" data-original-width="506" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheHn_IJjlOgAw-zrCmsIx-EeuGMOBuv3950wk_rREpBoG7Ih2o8WHwBdvxOGvkaE6f5D05HiyoIU2OMp6KZr8DT7OxOnTr_Nz6Y4jzwYOjI6QuovdskhLSEJND07YkWklhUC1lBuV4yq5KhA69JYZr8jQi5KKf8jjmIqJfRRPGqRbLWdahqzIt1nwPs0SO/s1600/Casual%20Friday.jpg"/[>][<]/a[>][<]/div[>]

I always delete the div class="separator" style="clear: both; and /div bits as that buggers up the layout. Then I replace style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center;" with target="_blank" to make it open in a new tab or Lightbox. Finally I add the size (for example: width="640") in place of the final "/" (after .jpg). Hope that makes sense..? Jx

  6. Oh my word! Well there’s my work cut out for tomorrow!! I had a hunch that there were possibly bits of code that needed removing, but I really didn’t know which bits!
It took me ages to get my simple template as I wanted it because the design interface has completely changed since I last used it. I made some extremely time consuming rookie errors, but all good now - almost!
    Thank you!
